Its well made knife and i think it will take a beating in the kitchen which is true test enviroment! I have small 10 cm serated version(steak knife lets say) aswell and so far its doing great.From my experience i can tell that some more expensive knifes do differ in quality of the blade but most importantly they have more weight and that improoves handling and cutting experience which i really liked, but this knife is great aswell.

AFTER HACKING AT A LOAF FOR SO LONG IT'S NOW A REAL JOY TO BE ABLE TO SLICE BREAD TO WITHIN 1/8 INCH THICK...BUT BUYERS BEWARE: IT IS EXTREMELY SHARP SO DON'T LOOK AWAY FOR AN INSTANT WHILE USING IT. I HAVE SLICED MY THUMB & A FINGER ALREADY, BUT I'M LEARNING!!

Bought this bread knife having used one elsewhere and been impressed. It arrived promptly at a competitive price. It is excellent, especially on freshly baked loaves.

I had two small Victorinox knives and was so impressed with them that when our old bread knife needed to be replaced I knew Victorinox was the make for us. So pleased with it, it cuts through the bread so smoothly.

Similar knives were on sale at many times the price. We bake our own bread and our old knife was tearing a fresh loaf which had to be squashed in order to make any headway. This new knife is just incredible. No pressure is required on the handle , a light sawing motion sees it glide to the bottom of the loaf. The cut is superior to slicing machine at a bakery. Very pleased.
