Which Victorinox will suit you best?

The **Victorinox Companion** is one of Victorinox' latest models. The composition of tools was inspired by the Victorinox Climber, though the can opener has given way to a box opener and the small blade has been swapped for a nail file. This combination of tools makes the Companion perfectly suited for urban or domestic environments. The Companion is named after a Victorinox pocket knife of the past.

## Most important tools

### Large knife

The knife is razor-sharp and has a cutting edge of no less than 6 cm. Once opened there is no wiggle room. As such it is suited for the more heavy-duty tasks. When opening and closing the blade, you'll hear a nice click.

### Box opener

The box opener allows you to open up any box or packaging without any effort. The sharp little hook is great at cutting through tape, without touching the contents of the box. The serrated part is for cutting through zip ties or price tags. 

### Awl

What do you use an awl for? For all tasks you wouldn't use the tip of your knife for! The awl is sharpened on one side, so it is highly suitable for making marks on wood. Which side of the line should you follow when you've marked something with a pencil? With an awl this isn't a problem. In addition, it is very practical to use an awl to pierce soft metals. You can use it to mark out where you should drill, for instance.

### Corkscrew

After removing the foil from the cork you can remove the cork with the corkscrew. The most creative way of using a corkscrew is using it as a coat rack. Turn the corkscrew into a wall and use the handle as a hanger.

### Combination tool

The combination tool is a super practical tool. This tool can be used as a bottle opener, wire stripper and screw driver.

Always been a fan of the Climber, have a few, offered to close ones a few more, I see the new Companion as a natural evolution of the Climber. Modernised (is there even cans without finger-open yet?) and just the right pocket-sized it's the real EDC.

Please note that knives are almost always sharpened by hand, even in factories. This value is therefore only an indication of a single tool measured by us.
