The **Fiskars X28 Splitting Axe M** has an axe head with a very wide wedge shape. The wider wedge shape splits wood even more efficiently and also makes it easier to remove the axe from the wood. The handle has a very strong construction with a long SoftGrip™ that absorbs the blows during use. This splitting axe is suitable for splitting logs up to about 30 cm in diameter.

## The handle of the Fiskars X series axes

Traditional axes often have a handle made from wood. Fiskars, however, decided that even an old type of tool like an axe can be improved. The fibreglass reinforced plastic FiberComp handle of a Fiskars axe is stronger and lighter than a handle that is made from wood. The handle absorbs vibrations and increases the grip and the comfort as you use the axe. As a result, even the toughest jobs will be a breeze. 

## Axe head of the Fiskars X series

The sharp axe head made of carbon steel is integral to the handle and will therefore never detach from the handle. The axe head is enhanced with a smooth coating that ensures the axe can easily be removed from the wood. This coating is very sustainable. 

This axe comes with a plastic sheath that is easy to attach, can handle moisture, and can be used to carry the axe or hang it.

Slices through wet and partially dried logs no bother at all. 
A nice weight without being too heavy. 
Length works perfect for me. 
Arrived sharp enough to use straight away but have bought the sharpener too. 

Incroyable efficacité compare à mon ancien merlin standard pourtant 1 kilo plus lourd. Plus besoin de forcer comme un bourrin, les buches se fendent avec une facilité déconcertante. 
J'aurais du investir dans le X28  il y a bien longtemps cela m'aurais économisé énormément d'énergie.

Perfecta de peso y largura para trocear y calidad excelente 

Nettement supérieur à mon ancienne hache de 2 kg et 15cm plus longue avec un manche en bois, efficacité, légèreté, prise en main et coupe remarquablement cette X28 médium.
- Je ne l'échangerai pas contre 2 autres haches lambdas. 
- C'est un plaisir de fendre du bois et surtout bien moins fatiguant.
- Jai 64 ans et je fends du bois pendant 5 heures sans arrêter et je ne suis presque pas fatigué. 
- Vraiment génial, ils sont fort ses Finlandais.

From a person who never owned a dedicated splitting axe before this was a revelation. So easy to split logs, easy to remove when stuck just a tap on the handle. I'm 188cm and they recommend the x28 for my height, I'm not sure would the x32 have been a better choice. That's just being picky though. Overall an excellent splitting axe
