The **Morakniv Companion Spark replacement firesteel** is a practical accessory if you have started numerous fires with your Morakniv Companion Spark. Did you wear out your firesteel or did you lose it? This is the firesteel that comes with the Companion Spark bushcraft knife.

## How to use the Morakniv Companion Spark Firesteel

The rod is 6 mm thick. This might seem small, but is enough to start hundreds of fires. The sparks of this firesteel can reach temperatures up to 3000 °C. With the right tinder you can create a warm fire in no time. A great advantage of a firesteel is that it will even produce sparks when it rains. 

Place the spine of the knife at an angle to the firesteel. Make sure the firesteel is close to the tinder to make sure the sparks hit the tinder. Scrape a little magnesium from the rod on your tinder, apply a little more pressure and quickly push the knife alongside the firesteel. If you do it right it will rain sparks!
