Aluminum/carbon multitool system to replace a keychain

A Key-Bar is actually your own DIY key-multitool. You take your keys, place a few spacers and tools, screw the whole thing together and voila: a multi tool with your own keys.


This Key-Bar comes with three sets of screws (for a gap of 14 mm and 16 mm, 8 mm), two rubber O-rings to hold the screws in place, a titanium ring for a lanyard and a titanium pocket clip. It is packaged in a tin box where excess washers and screws easily can be stored in together.


Putting together a Key-Bar is something you have to sit down for. Between the keys and tools you place rings to keep the keys apart. When you really pay attention to this, this will benefit in the long run! For instance you can have more keys on one side than the other and the little rings fill the difference out.

Echt een  topproduct zeer goede kwaliteit.

Doet wat het moet doen. Het scheelt vooral een ongeordende sleutelbos.

Totdat ik de Key-Bar tegenkwam in een Knives and Tools nieuwsbrief kende ik dit (soort) product niet. Sinds jaren draag ik mijn sleutelbos in mijn broekzak aan een ketting die ik met een karabijnhaak aan een riemlus van mijn broek vastmaak. Aan die ketting zitten ook een paar andere dingen; lampje. USB-stick etc. Soms raakt een sleutel verward in het geheel van ketting en ringen. Lastig en soms pijnlijk als een sleutel in je been priemt. Daarom leek deze Key-Bar mij wel wat.

Ik heb voor de aluminium/carbon variant gekozen omdat deze de lichtste is. Beide "helften" zijn prima afgewerkt en voelen prettig aan. Het geheel, Key-Bar, schroeven, ringetjes etc, zit in een net metalen doosje.

Het is even zoeken naar de beste manier om de sleutels te verdelen. Ik heb er nu 4 sleutels in. Daarvoor zij de kortste van de drie meegeleverde schroeven voldoende. De sleutels blijven op hun plek, maar zijn toch soepel te voorschijn te halen. Met de rubberen(?) O-ringen blijven de schroeven goed vastziiten. Na twee weken dagelijks gebruik is het nog niet nodig geweest om ze weer vast(er) te draaien. 

Hoewel er iets aan is toegevoegd voelt mijn sleutebos nu compacter aan.

Met de Key-Bar kun je veel meer kracht op een sleutel zetten. Dus pas op dat je de sleutel niet afbreekt als je 'm ook als deurklink gebruikt.
